With this triangular site being the former Empire Theatre, we were inspired to create a building with visual drama. Horizontal ribbons, vertical frames and pointed cantilevered balconies mark the wedge point of the site. Texture and sheer surfaces reinforce the viewer experience, both from a distance and at a pedestrian level. Red accent colour to large frames wrapping around balconies and fine grain details to windows and parapets contrast with ribbed raw concrete and silver metallic cladding.
